Confined Space Entry Training
Course Description:
The Confined Space Entry Training course provides essential knowledge and safety protocols for employees who work in or around confined spaces. This training ensures compliance with OSHA’s Confined Spaces Standard (29 CFR 1910.146) and teaches participants how to recognize, assess, and mitigate the hazards associated with confined space entry.
Topics Covered:
- Definition & Identification of Confined Spaces: Understanding permit-required and non-permit-required confined spaces.
- Hazards of Confined Spaces: Risks such as oxygen deficiency, toxic gases, engulfment, and physical hazards.
- Permit-Required Confined Spaces (PRCS): Regulatory requirements and permit system for confined space entry.
- Atmospheric Testing & Monitoring: Proper use of gas detectors to assess oxygen levels, flammable gases, and toxic substances.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Selection and proper use of safety harnesses, respirators, and protective clothing.
- Entry & Exit Procedures: Safe entry and exit techniques, including communication and rescue planning.
- Ventilation & Hazard Control Measures: Implementing engineering controls to maintain a safe atmosphere.
- Emergency Preparedness & Rescue Procedures: Understanding non-entry and entry rescue plans, and the role of an attendant.
