Interview with Joshua Thomas of North American Senior Benefits

Joshua Thomas has been a life insurance broker since 2007, with 17 years of experience in the industry. He started his journey after realizing that traditional career paths weren’t for him. He wanted financial freedom and entrepreneurship offered him that opportunity. With little to no money to invest, he found financial services and mentorship, which helped him build his business. Joshua now specializes in life insurance and retirement planning, guiding people through the often-misunderstood world of financial services.

Life insurance, he explains, is different from other types of insurance and can be complex. There are various types, each with its own philosophy, much like different religions. His role is to simplify these complexities and provide clarity so people can make informed decisions about their financial future. His passion for educating others and helping them secure their futures has been the driving force behind his success.

Joshua states that the single biggest challenge he faced was shifting from an employee mindset to an entrepreneurial mindset. From a young age, people are taught by parents and teachers to pursue stable jobs, earn a paycheck, and seek job security. However, entrepreneurship requires a completely different approach—one that includes uncertainty, self-investment, and long-term thinking.

He describes how employees expect a paycheck after a set period, but as an entrepreneur, income is directly tied to effort, persistence, and investment. Many people fear the risks involved, such as covering their own health insurance and benefits, and the idea of financial instability can be daunting. However, he emphasizes that overcoming these fears and changing the way he thinks about business and financial growth was crucial to his success.

Joshua highlights that entrepreneurship requires discipline, persistence, and the ability to challenge traditional beliefs about work and income. Investing in oneself and one’s business is necessary for long-term success. The way an entrepreneur thinks and pursues their goals directly impacts their ability to build and sustain a business.

Joshua Thomas’s story is one of perseverance, transformation, and commitment to helping others navigate financial security. His insights into entrepreneurship and financial services offer valuable lessons for anyone looking to build a business or secure their financial future.
