Lafayette, LA— The annual LEDA Job Fair drew over 1,100 job seekers to the Cajundome Convention Center yesterday, continuing its 30-year tradition as Acadiana’s largest employment and recruitment event. Among the nearly 100 participating employers and organizations, the Enterprise Business Center of Louisiana stood out for its active engagement with the local community and focus on inclusive economic development.
Representatives from the Enterprise Business Center, headquartered in Carencro, connected with job seekers from across the region, promoting opportunities within their incubator spaces, small business development programs, and community outreach initiatives. Their presence marked a growing effort to bridge local entrepreneurship with workforce readiness.
“We’re not just here to fill roles—we’re here to build relationships,” said a spokesperson for the Center. “The LEDA Job Fair gave us a valuable opportunity to meet people where they are and share resources that empower not only job seekers but also aspiring entrepreneurs and artists in underserved areas.”
The Center’s booth featured interactive displays of current projects, including its continuing education training courses and small business workshop programs. Staff encouraged attendees to explore administrative skills, co-working spaces, grant opportunities, and upcoming workshops designed to support start-ups and creatives in the Acadiana area.
Feedback collected by LEDA organizers indicated that this year’s event was a success, with many employers reporting quality leads and positive community engagement. The Enterprise Business Center received significant interest from local college students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals looking to get involved in socially responsible business ventures.
In addition to recruitment, the fair served as a networking hub. “It was inspiring to meet so many passionate people,” said one attendee. “The Enterprise Business Center really made you feel like you could be part of something bigger than just a job.”
LEDA extended gratitude to employers who remained throughout the full event, which ended at 1 p.m., and to those who contributed door prizes, including McIlhenny, Iberia Comprehensive Health Care, Acuren, and Taylors International.
As follow-up communications begin, the Enterprise Business Center expressed interest in collaborating with other local organizations inspired by the fair. “Community doesn’t end at the job offer,” they noted. “This is just the beginning.”
